J-Body Of Michigan would like to welcome everyone to come to The 10th Annual Anniversary J-BOM BBQ!   Shine up the ride, come on out eat some free food, check out the cars and have a great time.   We will supply burgers, hotdogs and condiments.   There is a pavilion keep us dry if the weather gets ugly so please come rain or shine.   Please feel free to bring food or drinks to contribute.   Beer and wine are allowed but no hard liquor please.

Happy New Year all !!! 

Sorry for the lack of news updates for the last year, I (protomec-site admin) take full responsibility for that myself.

This year’s planning is only beginning.  Coming up soon is the 2010 Autorama but, unfortunately, J-BOM will not be showing any vehicles there for the 1st time in a few years now.   Too many of our members are still recovering from the turmoil that was paramount in 2009 and we feel we cannot put on an adequate display this year.  We hope to make a strong return next year.

Next up in planning for us is our annual BBQ.  It will still be held on the Saturday before Memorial Day and will likely be at the same location as last year.  We hope to see you there.

The Autorama people have reversed their decision about not giving out he cash prizes that were listed on the site at the time we registered.   JBOM will be given the cash prize for club display.

We thank the Autorama people for coming through on this and fulfilling what we felt was their obligations.   We look forward to a continued positive relationship with the show.

Autorama is now over and the trophies have been awarded.  JBOM took a few of them!!!

·        Best Club Display

·        Amateur Division Award – Ryan Bauman (Ruen)

·        Experienced Division Award – Jayson VanderMuelen (qwik2k2z24)

 

Although it was listed on the Autorama Extreme info site, no prize money for the Best Club Display was awarded. When we inquired about it, we were told that the management had decided to change the offer a few weeks back., but had failed to notify the exhibitors.   We (JBOM) are going to pursue this though, and hopefully, it can be resolved to everyone’s satifaction.

 J-BOM will have 5 cars entered in Autorama Extreme this year!!!

Autorama Extreme is a division of Autorama, one of the largest, if not largest, indoor car shows in North America.  It is with great honor that we participate this year.  Although JBOM has participated in the previous years, this year marks our largest showing to date.  Autorama Extreme is the “non-traditional” (their term, not ours) portion of the Autorama show and consists of custom vehicles that fal outside of Autorama’s traditional norm of 60’s Musclecars and 30’s through 50’s customized street rods.

In keeping with our past tradition for this show, we are designing yet another interesting and eye catching display theme for our space. 

Please stop by and say “hi” to us at the show.  Autorama Extreme is located in the downstairs portion of Cobo Hall.  Tickets are $18 for adults, but discount tickets are available at Murray’s Auto Parts for $15.
