I use Solar Guard. Its a comany that alot of major companies use and also it has exellent coustemer service. When I was asking alot of questions about who to go with and what tint to use, and hot to apply...most companies said they dont know or they couldnt help. Solar Guard gave me alot of information and also sent me booklets and samples.

Beats me what I have, I went to Michigan Window Tinitng here in Flint and let them do it for $75.00 more than what you are getting for just materials, and it has a lifetime warranty. The only problem I have has is getting it to seat around all the dots on the top of the rear window....

http://www.solargard.com/Products/Auto.htm When most people see this site they think what??? There are no percentages for how dark, not much in prices, etc. One of the reasons they do not have a product called "limo tint" is because they use a more efficent film that protects you from the sun and UV rays opposed to just having a black window. If your just looking for the "look" of window tint then you mught want to try something else out. You can not buy directly through them but they will take care of all warrantys. |

No it was $75.00 over the $100 he was geting for material. I don't remember the tint I used. They had Llumar as an option, but I dind't get it. I have used Llumar in the past, on my VW, but it was a pain to install myself on the compound curve of the rear window....

Whoever tinted my Contour before I bought it was able to get those "dots" perfect...unfortunately, I have no idea who did it; only that it CAN be done. Personally, i had a place called Eclipse on Telegraph do my truck and they did a GREAT job on the entire truck. No idea what film they use though, but you could call them: 313-532-8820 |

The back window is the hardest to do. I kmow that it took me at least 4 times to finally figure it out, then I had to deal with the dot matrix. Heres my process...get the basic shape and size of the window and cut out your tint. Spray your liquid soap and water on the window. Heat up the tint so it dosent roll up on you. Move it around untill it covers the whole window. Cut off the excess tint. Use a bondo spreader to remove most of the h2o. Finally use a heat gun to remove all the water. Dont touch or clean for 5 days. For the DOT matrix I used a foam pad to apply the tint so it was sticking to the whole DOT, not just the top. After that I was done. |
