![]() Topic: suspension suggestionsPosted: 21 October 2004 at 11:12am |

I want to look into upgrading my suspension. Thing is, I know next to nothing about it. I've got a daily driver and I live on a dirt road. Lowering it, if at all, will be a very small amount since I do drive this daily on a dirt road and it will be driven in the snow. I also want to get into the autocross events next year. Jeff suggested some things but I don't remember. Any suggestions? |

Eibach Pro Kit springs. Not sure about the struts, you could probably get away with using KYB Gr2's because its only a 1" drop.

Ruen, Qwik2k2z24, Skilz10179, are your cavaliers pictured in the sigs daily drivers? How's the comfort level with the change in suspension? I've already lost some of mine with the vibration I'm getting from the motor mounts (still not used to it yet)

mine is daily to.. comfort level with the RKsport Prostreets is the best ive felt when it comes to coilovers on a J-body. but they have their downfalls so i sold them. if u really want a subtle drop with comfort, ied say go eibach Prokit and KYB AGX. wont drop ya too low, and u can adjust the struts. plus the pro kit wont void the KYB AGX warranties.. |

My AGX/intrax setup might be for sale here in a month or 2 if the coilover setup i want gets made. Its probably the best street setup besides the AGX/prokit, with the prokit setup not voiding KYB's warranty, even tho the prokit settles just like the intrax does... That setup isnt the best for racing though, too much lean and im starting to think the vavling insn't idealy suited to the springs in a racing situation, more up and down motion than i would like. A good balance would be the Koni/ground control setup, with a mild drop, say 1.5 up front and 2 in the rear? Should be decent for your roads, and take up some of that wheel gap, and be a good setup for autox.

My car is still driven daily but i don't plan to drive it once the snow falls. |

Brandon, if you're selling your setup, what else would I need to buy? So if I get a coil over kit or new springs I need to get new struts, right? I know next to nothing about this stuff, sorry. Coilovers are just things that compress the stock spring, right? |

I don't think the AGXs could handle a higher spring rate (even the yellow has its' limits) either way though. AGXs seem to be a great choice for those on stock springs, just ask Maurice.

Probably at least the G/Cs either way, but maybe the Yellows depending on how this shim situation works out. And yes, if you get lowering springs or coilovers, you need replacement struts all around. Yellows or AGX are good choices. |

This is sounding like it's going to be expensive. Ah well. It'll be worth it. |
